    Guiding Children's Behavior 1

    Early Childhood Educators need to develop skills to effectively guide children. In this self-directed micro-course, learners will study strategies, processes, behaviors, and routines that support the development of a nurturing and respectful early childhood environment. This micro-course meets the educational requirement to be a Child Care Assistant in Manitoba.

    After finishing this course you will be able to:

    • Explain the concept of guidance and how it related to positive childhood behaviors.
    • Describe how personal values influence the early childhood educator’s approach to providing guidance.
    • Demonstrate how to developmentally appropriate expectations for guiding children’s behavior.
    • Identify meaningful ways to foster children’s sense of self.
    • Demonstrate direct and indirect guidance techniques that positively influence children’s behavior.
    • Describe how routines and environments positively influence children’s behavior.

    *Learners who successfully complete this course will receive a digital transcript and an e-certificate. This course satisfies the educational requirement to be a Child Care Assistant in Manitoba , and can be eligible for transfer credit into Robertson’s Early Childhood Educator Diploma program.
